Special questions about Roma Education in Slovakia
Currently, the very sensitive issue of Roma education is also affecting other things than the social, political situation of the Roma, and it also affects the relationship between the majority and Roma minority. Moreover, there are few political entities that use the Roma policy as political issues. In the last 30 years, the Roma cultural intellectual forums have not developed much, it is not a miracle, that social integration is not resolved until now. In this study I mainly try to introduce the situation of the Roma minority in Slovakia in the field of education. I deal with multiple segments of this problem with each party. It is interesting, that the background of the problems of Roma children (family socialization, language problems, social situation, lack of motivation to learn, parents’ relationship to school and education, lack of pedagogical practice) that are causing Roma failures in education. Furthermore, I also search for answers to questions which, in addition to the difficult linguistic and social situation, contribute to the failure of Roma pupils.
